"not entitled"

Image
Lockhart, TX. On her first day of high school, a young girl was placed in “Interpersonal Studies” instead of the art class she had wanted. She told her mom that she was very uncomfortable because the teacher was trying to get students to admit they were gay.   Her story traveled quickly among friends on social media. The next day, I was in the Admin office requesting to see the materials. That was two weeks ago.  After many communications, I was told by school officials that even though I was   "not entitled" to view materials since I'm not a parent of an enrolled student, that they would allow me to come in anyway. Although you are not entitled to view these materials under Chapter 26 as you are not a parent of a student in the District, we are allowing you to view the materials requested. Would you be available tomorrow afternoon between 1:30 to 4:30 or Friday morning from 8 to 11 to view the documentation at the Administration building? This afternoon, my ...

Falling STAAR, Failing Kids

Something is not right with the STAAR tests (State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness).   I’ve been studying the results for 2020-2021 Lockhart High School, for "Masters Grade Level" results.  The other two categories of "Approaching Grade Level" or "Meets Grade Level" are irrelevant. Mastery is the only thing that counts.   Mastery of social studies (44%) and science (31%) rose to whopping percentages, yet reading (5%) and math (6%) remained behind. Shouldn’t science and math scores be relatively correlated? At least somewhat in the general range? It’s been awhile, but I remember chemistry requiring a lot of math skills. What a difference from 1972 to 2022 -- based on this year's test results, high school science doesn't require even nominal math skills.   We know that schools teach to the test. We know that. Our kids know that. The State knows that. Everybody's in on the scam.  So why not teach math to the test?  Apparently, it's ...

Permanent School Fund: Win-Win

Image
The biggest hunk of property tax goes to public education. There is a win-win solution, where children are educated and taxpayers are not taxed out of their homes. The  Permanent School Fund  is a state fund that receives rents on public lands and sale of minerals (oil & gas from the gulf). Funding of public education in Texas should --and has, in past years -- come from this fund. When property taxes were added to the school funding, of course magically expenses went up. It's like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow had been found! Last year, there was $55.6B in the fund. If there are 1,027 districts, that works out to be about $55M per district. A more equitable distribution might be allocating the funds per student. Here are some unofficial, pissed-off taxpayer calculations: $55,624,100,000 in the Permanent School Fund. There are 5,371,586 students in Texas. That would be $10,355.25 per student. There are 6,170 students in Lockhart ISD. That would be $63,89...

San Antonio ISD on Notice

Image
San Antonio Independent School District Board Meeting, Dec. 13. Last night I was honored to be among the Valiant who stood strong against tyranny, genocide, and seditious conspiracy. San Antonio ISD is a den of vipers. Outright lies. Blatant propaganda. Shameless hypocrisy. I saw it all at last night's board meeting, from "trustees" who should not be trusted with the keys to the broom closet, let alone with the lives of children. Signs on entry doors demanded performance to enter, but the Valiant knew better. They entered boldly, with holy fire in their eyes and jaws defiant with resolution to rescue the perishing, truth ready to flow from their intrepid, bare lips. They were easily distinguished from their foes, because their radiant countenances were not hidden behind a flimsy badge of compliance to the biggest lie mankind has endured in all of history since Eden. Tim spoke first, quoting from Dr. Judy Mikovitz and Kent Heckenlively's book, "The Truth about Ma...

Distance Learning = Lost Revenue

Image
"ATTENDANCE PROBLEMS COULD COST LOCKHART MILLIONS" Boo Hoo. Educrats are now crying because they realize that playing political games with people's liberty has its downside. Mask mandates have made people angry, and they have looked for solutions. Many parents have chosen to have their children do distance learning rather than have them suffocate all day behind a breath-obstruction device. The kids themselves realized that they could complete assignments and still have time left in the day, so they got jobs.  Problem is, schools don't get the federal funding when kids learn at home. The big lesson is that federal funding should not be involved in local education. The other lesson is that Americans like their liberty and don't like being told to sacrifice their immune systems for a "disease" that has 99% recovery rate, with children being the age group least affected. Administrators chose to play politics instead of doing what was right for the students, ...

That's All We Can Stands

Image
There is only one reason the National School Board Association is crying out to Biden's Attorney General Merrick Garland to sic the FBI on zealous, exasperated parents who speak up at school board meetings.   We are winning.  The educrats are afraid, very afraid. As well they should be.  Parents are waking up to the reality of the broken system. Perhaps it was the scamdemic that has made us all more sensitive to fraud and the corruption of absolute power crushing our liberties. Perhaps it was the inevitable critical mass; perhaps it was the power of social media inspiring one mom, one dad, then another and another. Whatever it was, it is beautiful. People of goodwill are like Popeye ~~ they can take a lot, but there comes a time when “That’s all I can stands and I can’t stands no more”, and the can of whoop-spinach gets popped open. We are there. One last point about spinach.  It has been cancelled. Researchers at   Freie Universität Berlin  discovere...
